In 1985, Lonnie Jensen founded Jensen’s Furniture Workroom. He and his wife Karen built a business that would become a mainstay in Cecil County and across the Maryland and Delaware region. From an early age, their son Shawn worked alongside them learning the craft and business of upholstery. When Lonnie died in 2017, the business closed. Their son Shawn was working in the mortgage industry at the time. But he soon decided that his passion for creating great furniture was pulling him back to his roots. In 2022, Shawn and his wife Shannon re-established the family business as Seams Possible Upholstery. They hope to carry on the family tradition for years to come in Harford county and beyond.

Our Process

Step 1

In most cases, Seams Possible Upholstery can give you an estimate from a picture that you text or email to us. We will ask some follow-up questions and provide you an estimate. Estimates are free of charge, but if you are unable to provide us pictures or we need to evaluate or measure in-home, there is an additional fee for that based on your location.

Step 2

When you’ve decided to move forward with your project, we will make an appointment for you to shop for fabric. That is typically done in our workroom from our large selection, but for an additional fee, we offer in-home shopping. Unfortunately, we do not allow customers to provide their own fabric. If you see some options you love but aren’t sure how they’ll look in your space, we can send samples home free of charge.

Step 3

Once you have selected your fabric, a deposit is due to order it from the manufacturer. Nothing additional is due until the work is completed.

Step 4

We add you to our pipeline. Our process is custom and takes time. We give you our best timeframe estimate to finish your project, but because there are many variables in what we do, we cannot guarantee a completion date. We can accommodate rush requests for an additional fee as our time permits.

Step 5

We will reach out to you when we’re ready to work on your piece(s). We will schedule pick up or let you know it’s time to drop your piece(s) off at the workroom.

Step 6

We get to work! We may have some questions while we’re working, so don’t be surprised if you hear from us.

Step 7

Our estimates are just that. Sometimes once we open up furniture, there is more going on than originally anticipated. If there are any repairs needed, we will reach out to you before doing any additional work.

Step 8

When completed, we will call you to let you know your project is ready and we will arrange delivery if needed.

Step 9

Your balance is due upon receipt of completed work, and you get to enjoy your piece(s)!
